Data Use Policy
What the dataset contains, where it comes from, and what you may and may not do with it.
This policy sits alongside the Terms of Service and covers the store records themselves: what they contain, how they are compiled, and the limits on using them. Read it before using any SallaData record for outreach.
What the dataset contains
SallaData describes stores running on the Salla platform. Each record can include:
- Store: store name, website and Salla link, store since, category (assigned by SallaData from the store's menu, name, description and keywords, one of 21 categories), and the store's own menu categories.
- Contact: phone, WhatsApp and email.
- Social profiles: Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and X.
- Business: buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) providers, commercial registration (CR) number, freelance licence and VAT number.
- Status: store status and the date the record was last verified.
Not every store publishes every field; when a store does not publish a field, the cell is blank. Coverage for each column is listed in the methodology and in the README that ships with every file.
Where the data comes from
Records are compiled from public sources, including the stores' own Salla storefronts and Salla's Mahally marketplace. Contact details, social profiles, payment options and business registration numbers are the ones each store publishes on its own storefront. Nothing is guessed or appended from third-party lists.
What “verified” means
“Verified” means each store was confirmed to be running on Salla in October 2026. Individual field values are recorded as the store published them and are not individually validated, the category is assigned by SallaData and may be wrong for some stores, and coverage of the Salla platform is not complete. Records go stale over time; validate a record before relying on it for a commercial decision.
Contact fields and personal data
Contact fields are business contact points published by the store itself — the phone number, WhatsApp number or email a merchant puts on its own storefront so customers can reach it. Every paid tier and every Category Pack includes them.
Many stores are companies, but some records belong to sole traders or freelancers (for example, stores that publish a freelance licence rather than a commercial registration). Their published business contacts are personal data under the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), and you must treat them as personal data.
On this website, contact details and business registration numbers in previews are partially masked. The free 100-store sample includes every column, with contacts partially masked. Full values are available only in the purchased files.
Using the data for outreach
Whether you may contact a merchant, and how, depends on the PDPL, anti-spam rules, any other law that applies to you, and the nature of your message. Once you download the files, that decision is yours. Specifically, you are responsible for:
- Having a lawful basis for contacting a merchant.
- Identifying yourself and the purpose of your message clearly.
- Personalising outreach rather than sending unsolicited bulk messages.
- Honouring opt-out and unsubscribe requests immediately and permanently.
- Keeping the files secure and not transferring records to a third party for their own outreach.
Sending unsolicited bulk messages in breach of applicable law is a breach of the Terms of Service.
Sharing and resale
Each purchase is licensed for the buyer's own business use. Unless covered by a separate written licence from SallaData, you may not resell, share, redistribute or publish the records or any substantial extract of them. Contact us for team, agency or redistribution licences.
Publishing findings
You may publish aggregate analysis derived from the dataset — market sizes, category distributions, trends — provided you cite SallaData as the source and do not republish the underlying records. Publishing store-level extracts is not permitted.
Corrections and removal requests
If you operate a store in the dataset and want its record corrected or removed, email me@kirwako.dev from an address associated with the store, or provide another reasonable way to confirm you represent it.
We will action verified requests and apply them to the next dataset snapshot. We cannot recall copies that customers downloaded before that point, but we will notify affected customers of removal requests where we are required to.
