Data Use Policy
What the dataset contains, where it comes from, and what you may and may not do with it.
This policy sits alongside the Terms of Service and covers the merchant data itself: what it describes, how it is compiled, and the limits on using it. Read it before using any SallaData record for outreach.
What the dataset describes
SallaData is business information about stores, not a database of individuals. Records describe merchant storefronts operating on the Salla platform and may include the store name, storefront URL, category and subcategory, city and region, catalogue-size indicators, linked social profiles, storefront status, and the date each record was last checked.
Coverage is not total, and not every store carries every field. What each field means, how it is derived and how complete it typically is are documented in the methodology.
Contact fields
Where a record includes a contact field, it is a business contact point published by the store itself — the kind of address or number a merchant puts on its own storefront so customers can reach it. Availability depends on the source, the collection method, the permissions attached to that source, and your plan.
SallaData does not offer unrestricted access to personal data, and does not compile personal contact details of individuals. A business contact point that happens to belong to a sole trader is still personal data under PDPL, and must be treated as such.
Contact fields are never published on this website. They exist only inside the product, for customers whose plan includes them.
Using the data for outreach
Whether you may contact a merchant, and how, depends on Saudi PDPL, any other law that applies to you, the source the field came from, and the nature of your message. You are the controller of that decision. Specifically, you are responsible for:
- Having a lawful basis for contacting a merchant.
- Identifying yourself and the purpose of your message clearly.
- Honouring opt-out and unsubscribe requests immediately and permanently.
- Respecting any restriction attached to a field in your agreement.
- Not transferring records to a third party for their own outreach.
Sending unsolicited bulk messages in breach of applicable law is a breach of these terms and grounds for termination.
Corrections and removal requests
If you operate a store in the dataset and want a record corrected or removed, email hello@salladata.com from an address associated with the store, or provide another reasonable way to confirm you represent it.
We will action verified removal requests and propagate them to the next dataset refresh. We cannot recall records already exported by customers before that point, but we will notify affected customers of removal requests where we are required to.
Accuracy
We do not claim the dataset is complete, verified or error-free. Records reflect what was observable at the time of collection, carry the date they were checked, and go stale. Validate before relying on a record for a commercial decision.
Publishing findings
You may publish aggregate analysis derived from the dataset — market sizes, category distributions, trends — provided you cite SallaData as the source and do not republish the underlying records. Publishing store-level extracts is not permitted.
